We share with you which Christmas markets for children we like the most!
Christmas market at the Chinese tower with children
The traditional Christmas market at the Chinese Tower (29. November – 23. December 2018) is one of the nicest Christmas markets for children in the city center. This Christkindl Markt in Munich is particularly romantic because of its location directly in the park called Englischer Garten. Surrounded by trees you find tiny market stalls offering various handcrafts. A brass ensemble plays Christmas music from the Chinese Tower. Especially for the children are “Opas Schreinerstadl”. At this workshop children can build wooden toys with the guidance of a grandfather. At “Omas Geschichtenstadl” children listen to traditional stories read by a grandmother in a very cozy atmosphere.
Advent market Forsthaus Kasten with children
Outside Munich you find the idyllic Advent market at Forsthaus Kasten. It is beautifully set-up. A variety of craftsmanship is offered by the individual designers in two barns. Enjoy handmade stollen in numerous variations and well-tasting mulled wine while standing around fire baskets. Listen to Christmas music played by a small brass band. The children’s program is enormous. St. Nicholas and Knecht Rupprecht are visiting regularly asking the children the obligatory questions and distributing small gifts. Furthermore children can ride a pony or be pulled by a pony in a small children’s carriage. In the animal area children can admire a living crib. In addition there is a fairytale tent. And there is even a playground. As long as neither low temperatures nor first snowfall stop the children, they can have a lot of fun. The Christmas market is open at the first three Advent Sundays (2, 9 and 16 Dec 2018).
