What to expect at the Berry Café with kids

  • Playground with water and sand: The sandbox here is anything but ordinary – it leads into a shallow water area. Perfect for muddy fun and cooling off on hot days. (Don’t forget spare clothes!)
  • Bobby car track & wooden tractors: Little racers can zoom around a dedicated track, while climbers head for the big wooden tractor or cruise on the smaller wooden vehicles.
  • Straw maze, corn maze & barefoot path: In the straw maze, kids disappear laughing between bales of straw. Some locations also have a corn maze (usually from July) or a small barefoot trail for extra fun.
  • Seating & shade for parents: Plenty of seats with umbrellas give parents a great view of the playground – so you can enjoy your coffee while the kids stay happily busy.

Berry picking in Munich – right next to the playground

One of the best parts? Picking your own berries! The fields are right next to the café and can be accessed with a €5 entry fee – with €4 credited towards the berries you pick. Depending on the season, you’ll find strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or currants ready to harvest.

Current harvest seasons (depending on the weather):

  • Strawberries: Late May to late June
  • Blueberries: Late June to late August
  • Raspberries: July to late September
  • Currants: July
  • Blackberries: August

Check the Berry Café website before your visit to see which fruits are in season.

  • Bring a change of clothes and a towel: For water play and messy fun!
  • Don’t forget sun protection: Some play areas are fully in the sun – pack hats and sunscreen.
  • Entry fee info: Entry to the grounds costs €5 (with €4 credited toward picked berries on weekdays).
  • Pack a bucket and a small shovel for kids: Adds to the fun while picking and playing!
