VISIT OUTDOOR MUSEUM GLENTLEITEN WITH CHILDREN

Playfully discover the traces of past generations

Excursion destination for the whole family

On large terrain and with great attention to detail, the Glentleiten was created and offers families a wonderful excursion destination for a relaxed hike through the mountain landscape and at the same time to discover a lot of new things. The rural life, as it was in the time before electricity, is impressively conveyed in the open-air museum Glentleiten. For this purpose, entire farms such as alpine malls or mills were rebuilt in their original condition in the open-air museum. For the next generation, the time travel into the past and getting to know the history of the homeland is particularly interesting and gives a lot of material for the short distances between the exhibition venues.

Play stations for children

In between, there are numerous play stations for children. More precisely, a playground and of course the extra long ball track in the forest (be sure to bring a 50 cent piece) are worthwhile every time you visit. In the pottery, children are allowed to watch the pottery. In a farmhouse designed for children, the offspring can go on a small scavenger hunt through the house and thus get to know previous customs and everyday life.

Geese, pigs, horses and cows are at home on the generous grounds Glentleiten. For children, there is therefore a lot to discover during the entire visit and so children themselves master the sometimes steep ascents to the next station.

At the weekend there is an additional (mostly free) program for young and old. These are activities such as painting clay vessels, a ladybug search, making cheese or making shepherd’s sticks. On the first Sunday of Advent there is also a Christmas market. Sometimes a fairy tale narrator comes and captivates the children with his exciting stories from earlier times.

Culinary pleasure

In the Kramerladen and the restaurant in the main house you can entice yourself with Bavarian cuisine. So you can also enjoy the great view of the Kochelsee, which is available for a visit to the restaurant. The restaurant in the main building is not only particularly beautifully furnished. A small indoor play area, as well as a outdoor playground make the visit for families particularly pleasant.

In the entrance building, in the Kramer shop or the pottery, great handmade things and rregional products can be purchased. A nice souvenir or souvenir is quickly found.

Time flies and the visit brings fun for the whole family and by the way everyone learns properly. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the main building. The Glentleiten can also be visited with the stroller.
