Hike relaxed with little explorers of all ages!
The nice thing about the hikes around the Winklmoosalm is that you can set your tour individually according to your family condition. This beautiful spot in the Chiemgau Alps became known primarily through Rosi Mittermaier. The hike starts directly at the Winklmoosalm parking lot. There is also the Winklmoosalm-Sonnenalm around the corner, which offers great refreshments after the circular hike.
If you are after a long hike, choose the panoramic circular hike Winklmoosalm with a length of 6 km. For a short and relaxing hike with the children, you can take the circular route to the Muckklause. The Muckklause is an ancient dam. It was built in the 16th century to transport wood. Good footwear is a must on this hike. Crossing the border during the hike is an experience. Nothing to you, nothing to you, you suddenly land in Salzburg in Austria and this by foot.
No matter which way you choose, the hike is accompanied by a beautiful mountain panorama and in the end everyone can look forward to a stop at the Winklmoos-Sonnenalm. Playground and free-range cows and a delicious hut menu are the best conditions to end the day in a relaxed manner. After the Kaiserschmarn for dessert, the lounge chairs by the pond are very well located. With the sun on your face, you can endure into the evening.
Access to the Winklmoosalm is chargeable. Unless you spend the night in Reit im Winkl, the ascent is included in the tourist tax. First it goes to the Seegatterl car park. As soon as you have paid the toll fee of 5 euros, you drive the last kilometers up the mountain over passes.
