Hike and swim in the idyll of the Easter lakes!
Do you fancy relaxing hours by the lake, away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and outdoor pools? Then an excursion to the Osterseen with children is exactly what you need. The Easter lakes consist of a coherent chain of small lakes and ponds, they are located south of Lake Starnberg in an absolute idyll surrounded by untouched forests and meadows.
From the parking lot in Iffeldorf you can walk with children for between 10 and 20 minutes until you reach the bathing area on the southern shore of the large Easter lake. It goes past cows, reeds and fields and you always catch a glimpse of the water. At the crossroads, turn right towards the Blaue Gumpe and cross a small bridge to the swimming area. A lawn with a fallen tree trunk and shallow crystal blue water offer the ideal place for relaxed family hours in the middle of nature. Kids can play safely in and on the water here. Only the bathing shoes are important, because on the shore and lake floor is not littered with fine sandy beaches but with small stones.
If the hike is too short for you, you can start with the short 4.4 km tour around the lakes and refresh yourself with a dip in the lake after the already successful hike. By the way, since many parts of the Easter lakes are part of the nature reserve, swimming is only allowed in the designated areas.
There is no café or kiosk directly at the swimming area. That’s why you can score well with a picnic you bring with you. If you are still hungry afterwards, you can spoil yourself with homemade cakes at Die Seemadames near the Iffeldorf car park or go to the center of the village to the Vitus restaurant for a cozy end to the day.
The Gut Aiderbichl, another favourite place, is really closed by and definitely worth a visit.
