Steep climb with double reward!
Your kids and you are already used to one or the other hike and walking altitude meters is easy for you? Then be sure to tackle the family-friendly hiking trail from Gmund am Tegernsee to the Gasthof Neureuth or the Gindlalm. The hike is about 5 km long and takes 2 hours.
For us, the hike is one of our favorite tours, because the view and the panorama of Lake Tegernsee, with which you are rewarded, is simply terrific. The hike starts at the Gasse hiking car park. From there you just follow the signs to Neureuth and Gindlalm. The climb goes well and it takes stamina. Our trick for hiking with children, with friends it is much easier.
After about 3.5 km there is an intersection with the option of a shorter but steeper ascent. We chose the steeper climb. The exciting path was made for the children. It goes up over roots and stones for about 20 minutes.
Once at the Berggasthof Neureuth, you can either get a seat directly on the terrace with a view of Lake Tegernsee or you can walk about 30 minutes to the Gindlalm, with more hut character and the food tastes a bit better. Wherever you end up, every family can decide on condition. Pictures of the two huts will be added later.
Downhill is of course much faster and after 1 hour the parking lot is in sight. The idyllic Oberbuchberghof is just before the parking lot. There you can enjoy a delicious cake and coffee in the beautiful garden, which is teeming with flowers, before heading home.
