In love with the Munich spring!
When you find the first signs of spring, the street cafés bring their tables outside and temperatures rise noticeably, spring has arrived in the city.
We can’t wait for the new season and the colourful life outside our houses! In addition to the beautiful sunbeams, we are looking forward to large beer garden visits, family time in the park and to visit the most beautiful playgrounds of the city (our favorite playgrounds can be found here) all together.

Family pleasures Beer gardens in Munich
Beer gardens are a perfect destination for families. As soon as the first rays of sun shine out, we make the bicycles ready to bike directly to St. Emmeramsmühle. The food in the local beer garden is incredibly delicious. The St. Emmeramsmühle also prepares picnic baskets, which you can enjoy in the nearby English Garden.
The Bamberg house in the middle of Luitpoldpark is also a popular destination in Munich with kids. A playground and the direct location inside the Luitpoldpark let kids have lots of fun.
Enjoying cafes and sunshine outside
We are happy to visit children-friendly cafes and restaurants that have a beautiful sun terrace during spring. It is important that the children can move freely despite the terrace and there is no dangerous road nearby. Moms and dads can relax and let the sun shine on their faces.
With a direct view of the horses and the English Garden, the sun terrace of the Café Reitschule is a great place to enjoy the first spring hours in the sun. Afterwards, a walk through the English Garden is fun.
At Brenners Grill you can sit in the sunshine on the large terrace. There is plenty of space around, so that the children can move around.
Fräulein Grüneis is our personal place of happiness! On the way there we watch the surfers on the Eisbach. At the kiosk we order ice cream for the children and coffee for parents and enjoy it together on the large sun terrace. Then it goes on to one of the playgrounds in the English Garden.
Family day trips around Munich
After a 40 minute’s drive you reach one of your favorite places at Tegernsee. A visit at Gut Kaltenbrunn comes with fine food and a huge playground for kids. The view over the lake is breath-taking. After the restaurant visit you can take a walk on the shores of Lake Tegernsee.
The restaurant Fischer at the lake Ammersee impresses with its direct lake location. The beer garden offers a small playground for kids.
For families who want to hike, the Schliersbergalm is highly recommended. From the top you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Schliersee, while the children have fun at the playground.
