Breathtaking hike with children throuh the Partnachgorge (Partnachklamm)!
A good hour from Munich, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you will find the famous Partnachklamm. Kids love this adventure through the gorge.
You can not park directly at the Partnachgorge. It’s best to park in front of the Olympic ski resort and walk from there. Depending on your speed, with children you need 30 to 50 minutes to reach the entrance to the Partnachgorge. There is also the possibility to travel with a horse-drawn carriage. You can not take a stroller into the gorge. But you can usually park the stroller at the cash desk and collect it on the way back.
For kids, the path through the Partnachgorge is an unforgettable experience. The path leads through narrow trails directly along the water. Some passages are completly dark. Kids love to fantisize what could be in the cave. Everywhere you can hear the water rushing. It drips, bubbles and hisses all the way. So a big adventure for the kids.
At the end of the gorge is a large gravel bed where you can rest. Kids can also play there safely and, for example, throw stones into the water.
For the way back there are two alternatives. Either you go back the same way (if you have parked the stroller at the cash register, then there is only this option). Or you continue to climb and be rewarded with beautiful meadows and farms. But the climb is rather steep and about 1 kilometer long. We usually make the ascent, as you will be rewarded with a great view of the mountains and delicious rest stops.
When you arrive back at the parking lot, you can spoil your children with a ride on the summer toboggan run.
