Nature, Animals and Family Time at the Blindham Mountain Animal Park
Just a stone’s throw from Munich, a true paradise for discovery and play awaits in Aying: the Blindham Mountain Animal Park. It’s the perfect family outing into the countryside, where nature, animals and playtime go hand in hand.
Your visit begins with a leisurely circular trail through the spacious park. The path is about 2 kilometres long and ideal for pushchairs or pull-along wagons — the latter can be rented on-site for 3 euros. Along the way, the route leads past lovingly designed animal enclosures, idyllic natural habitats, and plenty of small playgrounds inviting kids to climb, explore and take a break.
In the petting zoo, kids can feed and cuddle the sheep – a real highlight! You’ll also find horses, deer, wild boar, beavers, and many other animals that call the alpine landscape their home.
Along the trail, interactive stations like a “fence telephone” or a forest xylophone invite children to join in and explore. They’ll learn fun and fascinating facts about nature – no dry theory, just hands-on joy.
A real adventure awaits at the beginning or end of the loop (depending on where you start): the large adventure playground has it all! Trampolines, slides, swings, a sandbox, and loads of space to run, climb, and play to their heart’s content.
Parents will find plenty of comfortable seating around the playground – some of it even covered. And if you’d prefer to picnic surrounded by greenery, the park offers several barbecue spots. They’re free to use – just bring your own charcoal, food, and good vibes.
Right at the park entrance, you’ll find the cozy Park Café – perfect for a bite before or after your walk. And the view of the Alps? Simply stunning.
A Hit Even on Rainy Days: The SpielStadl at Blindham Mountain Animal Park
Bad weather? No reason to cancel your family outing! At Blindham Mountain Animal Park, an indoor world of fun is waiting for you: the lovingly designed SpielStadl – a beautifully converted barn offering around 2,000 m² of space for little adventurers to play and explore.
While the youngest visitors enjoy the spacious toddler area with a sandpit and ride-on cars, older kids can discover three floors filled with suspension bridges, swings, wobble paths, a flying gondola and several slides. Plenty of action and adventure are guaranteed – no matter what the weather is doing outside.
Parents haven’t been forgotten either: a separate quiet room with Alpine panorama views and comfortable loungers invites you to take a well-deserved break while the kids play to their hearts’ content.
Good to know: socks are required throughout the entire SpielStadl – so make sure everyone brings a pair! In winter, it can get a little chilly inside, so don’t forget warm clothing.
