Enjoy a day off at the Chiemsee with your children!
The south shore of Lake Chiemsee near the small village Übersee is very nice for a day trip with your family. From the highway it is easy to reach and shortly after the departure there are parking possibilities. You go along the Julius Exter promenade.
Soon you come across the first restaurant, Seewirt’s beach house, with inviting lounge chairs on the terrace right on the lake. We prefer to go further. Shortly thereafter follows a playground for the children. Climbing tower, rocking animals and slackline invite you to play. What a fun with a view of the lake to swing a round!
Next follows the Chiemgauhof with a very good kitchen. In the restaurant and on the terrace it is dignified. Chilled with the children, it is behind the pier on the sandy beach. There is the Sundownerbar. Clearly our favorite! The Sundownerbar is not only nice at sunset but also during the day. Loungers and benches are ready. The children love to play in the sand. So you can enjoy a cool drink with a fantastic view of the lake. If you like something to eat, you can get it from the delicious menu of the Chiemgauhof.
If you like to do some activities, make a detour to the adjoining climbing park. For the kids, it’s already a highlight to watch the adults climbing in the trees and ropes. If you want to take a swim, then you’re in the right place at Strandbad Übersee. There it is very vibrant. You find another playground with various carousels, climbing facilities, slides and swings. The beach restaurant offers a wide selection of ice cream, cakes and pizzas.
It is very nice to end the day off with your family at Lake Chiemsee. In the evening, when the sun is slowly setting on the opposite side of the lake, it gets a very special charm. Likely you will be rewarded with sleeping children on the way home!
