Winter hike to the Almbad Huberspitz
A wonderful winter excursion in the Munich area is the hike with kids to the Almbad Huberspitz and a subsequent descent with the sledges.
After a short, with kids about 1-hour hike to the alp, there is (currently only Sundays) Kaiserschmarrn. Those who walk up on another day of the week will find a nice spot in front of the hut for a picnic and an impressive view of Schliersee and the mountains in the background. The surroundings of the alp are made for Kids to explore.
The hike is started either at the Gindelalm hiking parking lot or at the Glück Auf Alpine Inn. We recommend starting at the Alpengasthof in winter, because firstly it is not crowded and secondly it does not lead directly on the forest road to the Huberspitz alpine bath. However, this also means that you have to walk back a short distance from the toboggan run to the car at the end.
The path up to the Huberspitz leads over a narrow path and passes through the mixed spruce forest up to the alpine pasture. First you follow the Huberspitzweg and cross the river over the bridge. From there you can simply follow the signs towards Huberspitz. Good footwear is important, also for the children.
Once you arrive at the beautiful alpine pasture, you can enjoy warm drinks and Bavarian dishes. By the way, the Almbad Huberspitz attaches particular importance to organic quality and regional ingredients. By the way, there is the possibility to spend the night in the Almbad and thus treat yourself to a time-out in the middle of nature and the family.
Back you go then with full bellies on the sledding run, which passes only a few meters to the right of the hut. It comes as a call that you can get directly on the slides and get down the wide track. What fun! Once arrived in the valley, you walk the last few meters back to the parking lot.
