Spring is finally here and it is calling for the hiking season to begin. The idea of ​​boiling up the spring fever on the hike with the children succeeds on the hike from the Duftbräu to the Daffnerwaldalmen on the Heuberg. Those who weigh the short ascent to the alpine pastures will be greeted by the Krokoswiese, famous in Chiemgauer Land.

The Duftbräu car park is recommended as a starting point. However, it is quickly crowded on the weekend. Alternatively, simply drive back a good 400 meters to the Schweibern car park.

The hike (just follow the signs from circular route 40) first leads to the Duftbräu waterfalls. After 20 minutes you can already reach the first play attraction for the children. A large meadow with a stream is perfect for the first break.

The following part of the hike is a little more varied with changing inclines and mainly runs through the forest. A lot of climbing skills are required from the little ones over tree roots and protruding stones, but it also gives a lot of incentive.

After a good hour, you reach the beautiful meadow of the Daffnerwald-Almen. In spring the whole meadow blooms. The view is wonderful. On one side you have a direct view of the Kaiser Mountains and on the other side of the blue Simsee.

Incidentally, the Daffnerwald Almen currently (and despite Corona) offers food and drink to-go. The only thing missing is the picnic blanket to make yourself comfortable on the large meadow with a wonderful view. Outside of the pandemic, the alpine pastures are open all year round.

The way back is either the same as the route known from the ascent or you continue to follow the directions for the circular route. Of course, the hike with children on the Heuberg is also an exhilarating destination outside of the spring season.
