If you want to show your kids where the daily food comes from, we recommend an excursion to the Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten in Glonn near Munich. This is a special kind of farm. In addition to typical farm animals such as chickens and pigs, you can learn more about how the food is made. They offer theme-specific tours. like cheese’s manufacturing processes and even extra kids tours.
In the middle of the area there is a small playground. It impresses with the particularly long swings, the balancing possibilities partly in daring heights and the tree house.
Just behind the playground is the Kaffeerösterei. Here you not only get delicious fresh coffee but also an insight into the roasting process of the coffee beans. It smells wonderful of fresh coffee!
If your are hungry you will find something to eat either in the tavern, in the beer garden or at the bar in the farm shop.
Once you leave the main area you can discover the orchards and other local animals on the other side of the road. At the end of the excursion, the farm shop invites you to come up with one or the other food for your home.
