Get to know the forest with all your senses and explore its secrets
All children like to visit the forest but if you embellish it with exciting play and learning stations your kids will just be the happiest. In the forest experience center Grünwald (Walderlebniszentrum Grünwald) succeeds exactly that and very impressively. Just a few minutes by car from Munich, the forest adventure center makes exploring nature so interesting.
With all senses the whole family can immerse themselves in the forest life on the path of the senses. Various forest objects can be felt, or forest fragrances can be guessed.
The many play stations, such as a labyrinth by tree trunks, a hollowed-out tree stump or a gigantic Xylophone are especially popular for children. The path that leads through the beautiful forest brings variety for the whole family.
The whole way seems to be a huge playground in the pure nature. There is something new to discover and see everywhere. Like this, children also have interest to learn how the humus is produced and which different layers of soil the water passes through to become groundwater. The interaction with nature works so easily.
For smaller children (under 3 years) it is great to bring a bike or something to drive with. The paths are well prepared and the distances between the various stations can be covered well with a bike.
Wild boar feeding attracts visitors every day at 16:00. From a small tribune, may be watched. During the walk through the forest, you will always pass the wild boar enclosure and watch the pigs.
The fresh forest air makes hungry! Numerous tables and benches can be used for picnics. If you do not have your own snack, you can have a coffee and a waffle at the kiosk on the weekend.
Good to know: Parking and the entrance to the Erlebniszentrum Grünwald are free. Clean toilets are available.
