The idyllic farmhouse of Grandma Anna, located on the edge of Illerbeuren in Unterallgäu, has been a gathering spot for family and friends for generations. It’s a place to celebrate life together, unwind, and simply enjoy a sense of well-being—a true oasis where everyday worries fade away.
Last year, the entire farm underwent a comprehensive expansion, renovation, and transformation. The focus was on architecture, quiet design, and skillful use of colors and shapes. The result is a blend of tradition and modernity, featuring three contemporary studio apartments and two cozy family apartments alongside the traditional holiday home. The outdoor areas were also enhanced with a beautiful garden.
Location
The small, picturesque village in Unterallgäu couldn’t be more idyllic. From the holiday home, you’ll gaze upon the vast orchard of d’Kammer, with the Iller River rippling past and sheep grazing across the way. It’s a perfect spot in the Allgäu, harmoniously combining nature and tranquility. The surrounding area offers its own unique charm, with the mountains just a stone’s throw away and exciting excursions and hikes waiting right outside your door. This is a place where both children and parents will find joy in their holiday.
Apartments and Holiday Home
D’Kammer offers five brand-new apartments and a spacious holiday home, all recently built within the historic walls of the former farm. Each is a gem, tastefully blending modern and timeless elements within this traditional setting. There’s plenty of space for families to enjoy their home-away-from-home together. The beautifully landscaped garden with a barbecue area, outdoor kitchen, pizza oven, and fire bowls provides the perfect setting to end the day with your loved ones.

New to d’Kammer is a Finnish garden sauna, complete with a refreshing cold water shower, comfortable lounge furniture, and a cozy fire pit for ultimate relaxation. You’ll also find yoga mats and straps in every apartment, perfect for personal relaxation and yoga practice.
Culinary Delights
One of the highlights at d’Kammer is the daily breakfast, a delightful start to your day prepared by Julia. She brings her creativity and passion to the table, using ingredients sourced from the region. This breakfast experience is something our family still raves about as the best start to the day we’ve ever had in the Allgäu. Breakfast is included in the price, ensuring a great start to your day.
The on-site shop offers selected products from regional producers, all of whom craft their organic goods with love. Choose from pasta, pesto, snacks, coffee, tea, honey, a pizza basket (perfect for the pizza oven), and a cheese spaetzle kit. You’ll also find locally brewed beer and regional wines.
Kids
D’Kammer is a paradise for children. The playground features a nest swing, floor trampoline, a large wooden train, and two wooden horses named Lotti and Karotti, complete with saddles and bridles. Older kids will enjoy the boules court, two Berg go-karts, a balance bike, a handcart, and a buggy. There’s also badminton equipment, a football, a Kubb game, and a craft shed where kids can tinker at a workbench. Indoors, game baskets with toys for all ages are available for those rainy days.
