We love to visit lake Tegernsee with children. Not on the weekend, but during the week. Also in the afternoon – soak up the sun, breathe in the fresh mountain air and recharge your batteries during a visit to the lake.
With children you can make your trip especially beautiful. Here you will find our favorite places in the region around lake Tegernsee.
GUT KALTENBRUNN – Tegernsee with children
At Gut Kaltenbrunn you can enjoy high quality food in a lovely environment. You have a magnificent view over lake Tegernsee and the Alps. In the summer you should definitely grab a seat on the sun terrace. Gut Kaltenbrunn is run by the famous Munich fine-dining catering Käfer. Bavarian traditional dishes with a modern twist are on the menu. Also highly recommended are the homemade juices. Children are welcome here. For infants there are also high chairs. An extra kids menu is offered.
PLAYGROUND – Tegernsee with children
The large playground with many play attractions is located right next to the Strandbad Seeglas. It brings lots of fun during a visit at Tegernsee with children. Two cable cars, a large climbing frame, sandpit and a carousel are just a few examples of the playground equipment. The highlights for the adults are the great view, the direct location on the lake and the nearby restaurant. You can park for free for as long as you want at the visitor parking. The small beach is especially nice in summertime and is loved by the children. The playground is a great place to watch and enjoy the sunset on the Tegernsee with children.
ARAN CAFÈ – Tegernsee mit Kindern
Café Aran at lage Tegernsee is simply beautiful! If you were not already in the holiday region on the Tegernsee anyway, you will get here right in the holiday mood. The best spot is to sit on the veranda with a direct view of the Tegernsee. During good weather, the white lattice windows are opened and so you are only separated by the promenade from the lake. But with children it is more relaxing to look for a place outside on the terrace. In bad weather, it is best on one of the large sofas reserved. Afterwards we love to walk at the promenade to our favourite spot at the lake and play right next to the water.
