An adventure and hike of discovery for young and old to the so-called witches‘ springs.
The circular trail is about 2.5 km and leads south of the Tirler hut through the Curasoa forest. For this you should plan about 1,5 hours with children. The beautiful hiking trail is a highlight for kids: display boards tell stories about witches and inform about the wildlife and nature.
Nature offers very special opportunities for play: Barefoot walking across the soft forest floor to the small mountain river, where you can not only cool off, but also throw and play with beautiful round and flat stones. Climb into a tree house high up, try ten-pin bowling with pine cones or swing through the air on the high tree swing. There is a lot of other playground e., all of which is made of untreated wood and fits nicely into the Alpine landscape.
Back again, the Tirler Alm offers excellent cuisine, so hungry hikers can regain their strength. On the sun terrace, you can enjoy the mountain scenery of the Dolomites. At the playground in front of the hut, the kids can play or admire the animals at the alpaca enclosure.
The Teufelsrad on the playground is unique. By shifting your weight on a large movable wooden disc, it can be rotated and tilted in other directions. This requires physical skill and a good sense of balance. That’s why Teufelsrad is a great challenge and fun for kids and parents alike.
How to get there: Take the Seiser Alm cable car to the mountain station Compatsch. From there catch the Almbus 11 to Saltria (address: Via Saltria, 59, 39040 Alpe de Siusi BZ, Italy). Access by car is unfortunately prohibited in the whole area of the Alpe di Siusi between 9 and 17 o’clock. Only guests of the Tirler Hotel are allowed to use their cars there, and only on arrival and departure.
