Immerse yourself in nature on the Nightingale Trail!
Just the right hike for families in Thuringia is the Nightingale Trail through the Hainich National Park with children. Wide flower fields, in luck nightingale songs and quite a few butterflies make through nature an experience.
Goes the hike of a total of 2.5 km at the hiking parking lot “Kindel”. The first info board waits already after few meters and gives knowledge and conversation material for the next meters. The trail continues along the stream to the brook meadow. High shrubs and bushes are here the welcome home for the nightingale. In the summer months, you can listen to the unmistakable sounds of the bird.
Continue across the plateau and its unique flowering splendor to Silver Lake. The lake counts as still water, an optimal area for various species of ducks, coots and frogs. Bringing binoculars for the children is worthwhile with the variety of animals that can be observed!
In addition to binoculars, a picnic also belongs in the hiking backpack. The path through nature offers numerous opportunities to stop and breathe. What is nicer than sitting down in the grass between flowers, listening to animals and watching butterflies.
The last run along the meadow, which is sometimes even visited by sheep. Back at the Kindel, the highest point of the hike, be sure to look back and marvel at nature.
