We love Mallorca. A special place is the capital, Palma de Mallorca. Also with kids it is great to go there. When we spend a perfect family day in Palma in can look like this:
Great children’s shops in Palma
Already the car ride to Palma is great when you apporach from the south. You will have a fantastic view over the bay of Palma from the highway. Once in Palma, we can recommend to park at Placa de la Feixina. If we want to go shopping we usually start in the old town of Plama. The main shopping street, Passeig del Born, we only cross shortly. We prefer to stroll through the small streets of the east of it. Nice Things, Set Nans and Lässig are cute shops to browse for kids stuff. If you have not seen the cathedral La Seu, it is definite worse to stop by. Close to the cathedral there is the harbor. Watching all the boats there usually excites the whole family.

Kids love ice cream in the sommer
Not far from the harbor lies the ice cream shop Rivareno. You wll find it at the small market place Placa de la Llotja. They produce their ice cream fresh and on site. Kids love to watch the big ice machines. Next to the ice cream shop you will find the beautiful gothic architecture of Llotja dels Mercaderes.
Big kids playground in palma
After the small break we continue our path to Santa Catalina. On the way there you cross the park Sa Feixina with a big playground. Here kids of all ages have fun playing on the three big climbing towers. At the weekend trampolines and a small carousel are set up. There are also some cafés close by where you can grab a coffee.
Child-friendly cafes and restaurants in Palma
One reason why we love Santa Catalina is the big variety of good restaurants and cafés. You definitely have to check out the market hall Merket de Santa Catalina. Here you can show your kids some local products you won’t find at home at a local market. In the back of the market hall there are serveral tapas bars. Ours kids enjoy eating tortilla there. We usually get a big variety of classic Spanish tapas. It you are looking for a more relaxe place than check out Café Santina. They offer healthy smoothies and all sorts of superfoods. We love to have an early dinner at Naan. We can recommend the ceviche and the fish tacos. In Santa Catalina you also find more nice bars and restaurants.
City Beach which is also kids-friendly
When you are leaving Palma in the afternoon and want to relax a bit at the water then stop by at the city beach Ciudad Jardin.
We love Palma and always have a great time there.
