An adventure for the whole family!
Have you always wanted to spend a night with the kids in a hut in the middle of the Alps? Then we have THE tip for you, because at the Alm Boscheben in Tyrol you can experience exactly that! Down-to-earth, that is super attractive for the kids.
The adventure starts at the valley station of the Patscherkofelbahn. Yo can leave your car there overnight. The first 1900 meters of altitude are covered with the gondola.
When you get off, the beautiful hike Swiss pine path (in German: Zirbenweg) starts. The hiking route is one of the Tyrolean pleasure trails and the great view of the Inn Valley is fascinating for the entire hike to Boscheben. In addition, you can see not only very old Swiss pine trees (the oldest are around 700 years old), but also the largest Swiss pine tree population in Europe.
After 2.5 km you already reach the Alm Boscheben. With children it can take a good hour or longer. That is exactly what we liked very much, because you can reach the night lodge without stress and back pain.
When you arrive at Boscheben, you are greeted by Clara, the hut owner and her two dogs Merle and Flocki. You immediately notice that someone is following her passion. Clara took over the hut 5 years ago and is living her dream in the mountains.
With hut sleeping bags for the bed storage, which can accommodate up to 14 people and a towel for the morning cat wash, you are well equipped for an overnight stay in the hut. There is no shower and the water must be used very sparingly. Our initial concerns about how it would work with 4 families in one room were completely redundant afterwards.
In the evening Clara cooks a delicious 3-course menu for her guests. For this you can make wishes or intolerances before arrival. But the evening is far from over. Actually, it’s only really starting now. Directly in front of the hu you enjoy the sunset over the mountains wrapped in blankets and a campfire is made in the garde. We seized the opportunity directly and grilled marshmallows. So delicious!
In the meantime it got really dark and the stars shine in the sky. On the heights you feel a little bit closer to the sky and the stars shine with an intensity that you rarely see. Alone from the thought of this beautiful evening, we still get goose bumps. If the children still have strength, there is also a small star hike.
After such an exciting program, you can understand that the children are really tired!
In the morning breakfast is waiting for everyone. Then you either go back to the gondola comfortably or you climb the Viggarspitze. For this you need between 1 and 2 hours and can enjoy a gigantic view of the Inn Valley. But be careful, this tour is not suitable for small kids.
