NATURE EXPERIENCE TSCHEPPASCHLUCHT IN CARINTHIA

BREATHTAKING HIKING ADVENTURE IN TSCHEPPASCHLUCHT IN CARINTHIA!

Impressive views into the gorge, wild rushing water and many other highlights can be found during a hike with a child in Carinthia in the Tscheppaschlucht. The path always leads along the river. At the beginning it goes through the forest and then in the gorge you mainly past rocks. Right after the entrance into the gorge there is a barefoot course where you can feel the various undergrounds. Quite a nice experience!

For the hiking tour in the canyon, one should be in any case free from giddiness, because partly it goes very steep and deep down. To be on the safe side, hold the children in the hand during the whole hiking tour. The path is narrow, but well developed with stable terrain and often there are additional ropes on the mountain side. Your kids should be able to walk safely and should also be in good physical condition, as the path often leads up and down. The differences in height are usually mastered by steps, some of them with a considerable step height. Again and again a new impressive view into the gorge opens up and leaves you astonished!

The hike can also be done with a baby or child carrier. Accordingly, you only have to be sure-footed yourself;-) In some places it became surprisingly narrow, but the carrier always fitted through. However, you should consider with smaller children whether it is not too loud for them with all the roaring water. In our case one of our kids sometimes preferred to cover his ears.

We decided to take the smaller of the two hiking tours and it took about 1 1/2 hours. At the beginning there are a few places to take a break, later in the canyon it is not possible because of the narrowness. But at the end of the hike there is a stopover at a very child-friendly inn, which has been family-owned for centuries.

A bus transfer takes you back. It leaves every hour, starts at the inn and takes you directly back to the parking at the Tscheppaschlucht. From Klagenfurt it is only about 25 minutes by car to the Tscheppaschlucht!

For youngsters the high ropes course right at the beginning of the hiking trail to the Tscheppaschlucht is exciting and certainly worth a visit if you are looking for even more thrills.
