Family holiday in the Villa Lena together with artists!
Villa Lena is a very special place. It is a beautiful hotel, where you can spend great tuscany holidays. But also artists come here every month for a creative phase. When staying in the hotel, you feel immediatly that art is very import to the owners of Villa Lena. Everywhere you will find unique art works and pictures. The artists who stay at Villa Lena don’t have to pay for their stay, but they leave one art work for the villa.
Villa Lena is located in the middle of a hill, surrounded by a few other houses where the hotel rooms and the restaurant are located. A little way off, the artists’ studios are located in small huts. Guests are welcome to take a look at the studios. For children there is an extra game room and a small playground!
You don’t feel like staying in a hotel but more like staying at with friends at a sommer house. All rooms are unique and beautiful designed. From the terrace you can look directly at the stunning villa.
The restaurant is individually decorated with selected vintage furniture and at the same time typical Tuscan style. The kitchen uses if possible ingredients from their own garden at Villa Lena. Everything else comes from local organic markets. Even in the kitchen the love of experimentation goes on. Villa Lena often invites chefs from other regions to stay and cook at Villa Lena for a while. But of course, they also have a classic italian pizza and pasta night.
In extra pizza and pasta workshops you learn the Italian secret tricks. The kids will have a lot of fun at the workshop as well as the parents. Almost every day something special is offered: wine tasting, aperitivo with the artists or the highlight, the truffle hunt. Here you can take the jeep to the hidden truffle areas of Tuscany. This smell of wholewheat white truffle will never leave your nose. And of course you can have the fresh white truffel for lunch.
You can relax in the Villa Lena best by the pool. From here you have a magnificent view over the Tuscan countryside. At the poolhouse they play great music, exspecially not the typical 0815 chillout lounge music. Of course you can also get great drinks at the pool bar. For children there is a small pool in which it goes in quite flat. Children’s toys for the water and water wings are ready! The yoga spot is also up there and beautiful.
You see the French origin of the owners at the boule alley. It is also not far from the pool. When no other guests use the track, kids can also play here wonderfully.
Special locations require a special spot. The fact that Villa Lena is located in a special place, you already notice on arrival. Until you reach Villa Lena, you have to conquer an almost never ending narrow street. Try to get the road from the north of the village Palaia. Because the road from the south is a pure gravel road.
