Especially in summer Hayns Park is a wonderful refuge. At the Barmeier boathouse you can get drinks and snacks in the adjoining café. Or you can take a seat in the beer garden and watch the hustle and bustle on the Alster while enjoying an ice cream or coffee.
On hot days the children’s favourite is the paddling pool right next to the boathouse. It is filled daily with fresh water. There is also a playground next to the boathouse. The adjacent meadow is great for having a picnic or playing football. You can even have a barbecue on the meadow if you have the appropriate equipment with you.
Also to mention: Very close to the park you find a delicious bakery called Delikate. Besides georgous sweets they also serve excellent coffee. If you are really hungry, drop by at “the Pizzeria“, a true institution with the best pizza in town.
