Off into the snow – fun in the snow with the whole family!
Where skiing with kids in and around Munich is especially good
When the first snowflakes fall and the world looks enchanted, nothing stops us indoors. Then it’s off to the car and out into the mountains. Depending on your mood, you can go tobogganing or skiing with the children. Finally, the first ski jumps want to be practiced. Which snow-capped hills we particularly like to drive up, you read here.
Skiing with kids near Munich
Once it has snowed, Lenggries is a great destination for a day trip with children. Snow fun is guaranteed here. The Kinderschneeland Villa Lustig leaves nothing to be desired for the little ones. There are not only small slopes to practice your first turns, but also a playground in the snow. Several magic carpets bring the kids up easily. Everything is very colorful and sprayed good mood. The magic land Villa Lena can either be used individually or you can book a course for skiing.
If you want to sledge and ski with your children, then Kreuzmöslberg near Lake Starnberg is the right destination. On the 300m long slope you can sledge on the one side and ski on the other side. Since it is just about half an hour car ride from Munich, it is also worth to go there just for a short trip.
Skiing with child in Austria
If you drive a little further, you are soon in Austria. Of course, there are countless opportunities to ski with children here. We really like the small children’s ski area Hexenwiese in Söll at the Wilder Kaiser. The Hexenwiese in the SkiWelt Söll offers a great adventure course for the skiers. Witch brooms are in the snow as slalom sticks. The kids and their skis can test their balance on a seesaw. A children’s lift and a magic carpet bring the children up the mountain. In the Hexenalm you can stop in and warm up if necessary. Or you can use the seating outside with sun loungers in sunny weather.
Toboggan fun instead of skiing with a child
The toboggan run Hörnle in the Ammergau Alps (behind Murnau) offers huge tobogganing fun for the whole family. The toboggan run is 4.5 km long and not only puts the children in a happy mood. Tobogganing is just as much fun for the adults here. Toboggans can be lent easily at the valley station. A nostalgic two-seater chair brings you up. For refreshment, cozy huts invite you to warm up both at the mountain station and near the valley station. From Munich you can be there in an hour and usually without traffic jams even on weekends.
