The place in the Bregenzerwald where fox and hare truly say good night!
Imagine a place full of tranquility, nestled between fir trees and mountains. Which invites you as a family to forget the time and enjoy together. The HALWINA Hideaway is exactly such a favorite place in the Bregenzerwald. Just the view out of the window into the big wide mountain world is the contrast program for all city people.
A declaration of love to the grandparents and the Bregenzerwald
Edith Seppele, the hostess, spent her childhood playing and tinkering with grandpa and grandma where the HALWINA Hideaway now stands. When it became clear that the grandparents’ house could no longer be preserved in its original form, Edith built a new house. In doing so, she placed great emphasis on sustainable and modern construction using natural materials, while still reflecting the traditions of the region. Thus, the house facade features the typical wooden shingles of the region.
On the other hand, the HALWINA is bursting with modern architecture. Be it with the tasteful interior design, the sauna or the photovoltaic system, with which the house is self-sufficient.
In total there are 2 vacation apartments HANNA and ALWIN. Wood is the central element in both and provides an unmistakable coziness. In the vacation apartment HANNA there is room for up to 9 people. On 3 floors there are spacious bedrooms, a kitchen-living room with a view of the mountains as well as a fitness room and play area under the roof.
ALWIN is smaller and made for a family of four. Here, too, a beautiful eat-in kitchen awaits you, as if made for relaxing hours with the family. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom. If you arrive with a large group, you can also rent the whole house.
Since the hosts themselves have 3 children, everything was thought of what is important on vacation with children. Crib, high chair, toys and especially nature as a playground right outside the front door. In winter, the slope behind the house is used for sledding, jumps are built and in summer the forest is conquered. As a result, children feel just as much at home at HALWINA as their parents do.
By the way, you are usually welcomed by our neighbor Sabine, since Edith lives with her family in Carinthia. Sabine not only opens the door for you, she also has tips that only a local would know and is only a phone call away. Sabine also makes what is probably the best Käsespätzle in the region. She will gladly show you her recipe and the right cheese mixture in a joint cooking lesson directly at HALWINA. Your kids will be thrilled!
The HALWINA is in summer as in winter a first-class place for vacation with children in Austria. Family hikes, snow-sure slopes and the Bregenzerwald’s cuisine, known for gourmets, immediately let you dive into the absolute tranquility far away from any everyday hustle and bustle. Here you can find our tips for hiking and eating for every season around the HALWINA Hideaway.
