A day of vacation directly at Lake Starnberg in the Schwaiblbar!

At the campsite Ambach hides the hip Schwaiblbar. A relaxed atmosphere, delicious drinks and food local and organic ingredients make the beach bar a cozy place and one of our favorite destinations with kids in Munich. The kids love the huge sandbox with the big wooden horse and various sand toys. There is also a play cart with countless board games, a trampoline and a small chicken coop. The Schwaiblbar is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Starnberg and the Ambach recreation area. There are several sections of the lake shore where you can sit down. It goes quite shallow into the water, which is ideal with kids. If you are looking for a change from swimming, there is also a SUP rental right on site. So during the family time out, relaxation is guaranteed for everyone! Click here to go to your favorite place.

Family excursion to Spitzingsee with junior mountaineers!

The lake tour around the Spitzingsee in the Mangfall Mountains is just the right route for families who would like to go hiking with kids. The circuit is about 3 km long and small or extended breaks are part of it, because there is a lot to discover along the way. If you are looking for a particularly nice opportunity to eat after or before the hike, we can recommend the Albert Link Hut of the German Alpine Club. To get there, you hike about 20 minutes from the lake to the alpine hut, which is open all year round. A children’s playground, outdoor seating, a bread factory and, above all, a magnificent view reward the way there.

Enjoy time with the family at Lake Tegernsee on an excursion with kids in Munich!

We especially enjoy a trip to Lake Tegernsee with kids. It’s a great place to relax, with a view of the water and the mountain panorama in the background. It’s also worth it for an afternoon – to take a dip to soak up the sun, breathe in the fresh mountain air and recharge your batteries with a visit to the lake. Especially the culinary offer pleases us in combination with the view of the water just super. Here we can recommend the following favorite places with kids: the Aran Café for a relaxed breakfast, the Gut Kaltenbrunn with playground and large terrace and the Haubentaucher restaurant for gourmets directly on the lake. We also reveal the coolest adventure playground by the water.

Alpaca walk through the Kirchseeoner Moos!

An excursion of a very special kind can be experienced during your walk with the fluffy alpacas in the district of Ebersberg. Just a few minutes by car from Munich is the farm Traumland Alpakas, which is also known for its therapy and coaching sessions with the gentle animals. Families can visit the farm together for a walk with the alpacas. After getting to know the animals, the leisurely walk through the Kirchseeoner Moos begins. The children have already taken the alpacas to their hearts after the first few minutes and are allowed to lead the alpacas together with an adult. It is easy to leave the stress of everyday life behind, because the alpacas like to take their time.

The best destination when hiking with kids above Schliersee!

When hiking with children, at least for us, it always needs quite good motivation to get up the mountain. The hike is suitable for children, runs only in the lower part a piece along the road and has a feasible length with one hour. The Schliersbergalm is the ideal driver. Once at the top, there is the purest Eldorado for kids. Not only that the Schliersbergalm has a great playground at the edge of the forest, where the slide goes between the trees. But there are several large children’s trampolines with a magnificent panorama over the Schliersee. In addition, there’s the Alpenexpress.

On the trail of the past in the open-air museum Glentleiten!

On a large terrain and with great attention to detail, the Glentleiten was created and offers families a wonderful destination for a relaxing hike through the mountain landscape and at the same time to discover many new things. Rural life as it was in the time before electricity is impressively conveyed in the open-air museum Glentleiten. For this purpose, entire farms such as alpine pastures or mills have been reconstructed in their original state in the open-air museum. For youngsters, the journey back in time and learning about the history of their homeland is particularly interesting and provides plenty to talk about in the short distances between the exhibition sites.

Up to the Wallberg for the best Kaiserschmarrn!

This alp on Tegernsee’s local mountain, the Wallberg, has done it to us. Recently, the Altes Wallberghaus with a restaurant was renovated and now enchants with modern Bavarian charm and mountain panorama, which you can enjoy in summer on the sun terrace. The Alte Wallberghaus can be reached after an approx. 2.5-hour hike with children, starting at the Wallbergbahn valley station. The hike is very steep in parts, but easily doable with children. Above all, the first-class view of Lake Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains make this hike a special highlight. If you prefer to start directly with the pleasure, you can use the Wallbergbahn and reach the Wallberghaus in 15 minutes from the top station.

Trip to the Maldives of Bavaria with the whole family!

Who visits the Eibsee gets one thing above all: a magnificent view! With the Zugspitze and a great mountain panorama in view as well as the turquoise-blue water, vacation feelings arise directly. Not for nothing is the Eibsee also called the Maldives of Bavaria. The hike with the children around the Eibsee is best started from the parking lot of the Zugspitze cable car. From there, follow the signs to the lake, where the tour begins. Many guidebooks recommend walking counterclockwise around the lake, as the view of the Zugspitze is particularly magnificent that way. We decided to walk in the other direction so that we could spend more time in the warming midday sun. Almost over the entire route, you have the highest mountain in Germany in view. No matter from which side you start, at the Eibsee you’ll feel like you’re on vacation!
