Relaxed family excursion in Tyrol between the Serlis nature trail and the highest monastery in Europe.

Your Tyrol family trip starts with a short walk to the Serlesbahn in Mieders, where the gondola takes you to the “Koppeneck” mountain station. Once at the top, the Serlespark immediately captures the children’s attention. The play and recreation area with its picturesque small lakes is a jewel in itself. People play, splash and relax here – the latter is particularly popular with parents.
The Serleszug also starts in Serlespark – a small, colourful railway that leads through the impressive mountain world to the highest monastery in Europe, Maria Waldrast. The ride is a real pleasure. In the monastery you learn more about the history and spirituality of this unique place and in front of the monastery you can bathe your feet in the healing water.
Enjoy lunch at the Koppeneck restaurant, just a few steps away from the mountain station. You simply have to indulge in the regional delicacies and take one last look at the mountains before taking the summer toboggan run back down into the valley. This is the perfect way to end the day for the kids.
This is what a cosy day in the mountains looks like. If you’re looking for more exercise and kilometres of hiking on a family outing in Tyrol, we recommend the tree house trail, the WildeWasserWeg trail or a visit to the Stubai Glacier.
