HIKING TO KASERILL ALM IN SOUTH TYROL WITH CHILDREN

Idyllic alpine hiking with rapid descent!

Hiking in South Tyrol with children to the Kaserill Alm is a highlight for families in every season. In terms of scenery, the view of the majestic Geisler peaks together with the idyllic nature next to the hiking trail is really hard to beat. Once at the top, the pretty little alpine alm is already waiting with everything a family heart desires.

In summer, the children’s playground and the petting zoo keep the little adventurers on their toes, while on the sun terrace homemade delicacies are served. In winter, the toboggan route starts right in front of the alpine pash back into the valley, which is a lot of fun for the whole family.

For us, the hike to Kaserill Alm has now become a tradition as soon as we are nearby. We prefer to take friends or even grandparents with us. Because the way there is really feasible for everyone.

The tour starts at the Hiking parking lot Zanseralm. First on hiking trail 33 in the direction of Kaserill Alm. It gently goes up the mountain through the coniferous forest. In winter, the white powdered trees resemble an enchanted winter landscape.

Soon the landscape will change and the small mountain stream provides a great change on hiking in South Tyrol with children in the summer months. Cool your feet, throw an asterisks, take a break. The stated walking time from Zans to Kaserill Alm is 1 hour for just under 2 kilometers. But it took us a little longer in winter with children and cones.

At the top, the small fine Kaserill Alm with its own show cheese dairy, typical South Tyrolean specialties made from natural products and a really good Kaiserschmarren awaits the hikers. Inside it is very cozy with a tiled stove for the stop and especially in winter you can warm up in homely atmosphere. But with the first ray of sunshine, everyone is drawn to the terrace, where a unique view of the surrounding mountains awaits.

Extra Gaudi in winter: combines hiking in South Tyrol with children with a rapid toboggan run (available to rent in the alpine hill)

For the return to the parking lot, the rast toboggan run directly in front of the door is ideal in winter. For this purpose, the toboggans can be borrowed for a small fee on the alpine pide (especially on public holidays, a prior reservation is advisable) and a collection point for the return is set up at the parking lot.

Good to know: The toboggan track is well prepared and wide enough to avoid pedestrians without any problems. When climbing, however, you should make sure that you use part of the toboggan track and pay attention to oncoming toboggans again and again. So nothing stands in the way of a successful hike in South Tyrol with children to Kaserill Alm.
