Wonderful family hike in the Vinschgau Valley to the Latscher Alm
When we’re on vacation, we usually leave the car behind and explore nature on foot. We do make an exception for the Latscher Alm in the picturesque Vinschgau Valley. You can leave your car at the parking lot at the valley station of the Tarscher Alm chairlift and start your family hike in Val Venosta/Vinschgau directly from there. The two-seater chairlift takes you up the mountain in comfort.
We’d highly recommend the archery station right next to the chairlift. After a quick briefing, everyone can give archery a go – it’s a great activity for kids and dads alike.
Once you’re at the top, you can either take the family circular hiking trail or, if you’re not feeling particularly motivated to run, take the direct route to the idyllic Latscher Alm. Allow around 45 minutes for the hike.
When you arrive at the alpine pasture, you’re greeted by horses and cows grazing peacefully in the distance. The kids can get up close and personal with life on the mountain pasture in the play barn, while we parents enjoy the local cuisine and the breathtaking view.
