Pfefferlechner is a bit like Lana’s living room – only with a beer tap, a beer garden and a petting zoo. Locals sit next to travelers, children share the playground with goats and chickens, and somewhere there’s always someone passing by with a jug of freshly tapped beer.

Step inside Pfefferlechner and you’re instantly immersed in a little universe of craft brewing, warm hospitality and South Tyrolean joie de vivre. The host family and their team aren’t just faces on a website – they’re always right in the middle of things: pouring drinks, greeting guests, raising a glass. Everything here is intentionally open: the kitchen doors stand wide open, you’re welcome to peek into the brewery at any time, and even the animals aren’t tucked away behind barn doors.

Brewery with a view

In the gleaming copper kettles, beer with true character is brewed – so transparently that you can almost watch it happen right from your table. Alongside the classics, the alcohol-free craft beer “Freedl” is a real star. Award-winning and surprisingly full-bodied, it’s just right for anyone who loves the taste of hops but prefers to skip the alcohol.

It’s worth booking in advance: families are seated close to the playground and petting zoo, so kids can happily wander between playtime and the table. Couples, on the other hand, can enjoy the quieter upper area – perfect for long conversations and views of the greenery. That way, everyone finds their own little piece of beer garden bliss.

A kitchen full of pride

You can taste that everything here is handmade. Even the pasta is freshly prepared in-house. Our favorite: basil pesto with pine nuts – so green and aromatic it feels like summer served on a plate. Another highlight is the apricot-basil soup with burrata, proof that beer garden cuisine can also be refined and creative. Children get their own menu with classics like schnitzel or homemade pasta. And for seasonal food lovers, autumn is the time to come – when Törggelen brings fresh “Suser” wine, speck, and roasted chestnuts to the table.

Pfefferlechner is not just a place to eat. It’s a stage for spontaneous singing, a gathering spot for family celebrations, and a hidden gem for anyone curious to experience true South Tyrolean warmth. Sit down here and you’ll soon feel it: this isn’t just a beer garden. It’s a little piece of living tradition, open to everyone who wants to be part of it.
