The mountain with an XXL fun park for all ages

Hauser Kaibling is the kind of mountain where children often say, after just their first run, that this is exactly where they want to stay. For us, that moment came at the latest on the XXL fun slope. It’s playful, easy to navigate and, at the same time, wonderfully varied. For families, it’s one of the most relaxed ski mountains in Schladming-Dachstein – and the perfect place for light, easy-going ski days.
Hauser Kaibling is part of the Four-Mountain Ski Link and can be reached directly from Planai, its neighbouring mountain. This connection is exactly what makes it so appealing.

Wolli’s Kids Park for those first turns
Located right next to the valley station (and with guaranteed parking directly off the B320 Ennstal main road), Wolli’s Kids Park is a real plus for families with younger children. Here, kids can either join professional ski lessons or practise together with their parents free of charge on the magic carpets.
This setup is ideal for the very first days on skis. A small, clearly laid-out slope is often all children need to gain confidence and start enjoying skiing. There’s no pressure to cover long distances just to make a lift pass worthwhile – and that’s exactly what makes this area so family-friendly.
A scenic break spot on Hauser Kaibling
Right at the top of the mountain, Pleasure Island lives up to its name. Chairs and loungers invite you to take a well-earned break. Some families unpack a small mountain picnic, while others simply lean back and soak up the sun at 1,800 metres.

The XXL fun slope – a highlight for kids
The absolute highlight on Hauser Kaibling is the XXL fun slope. To find it, simply follow the signs marked with the smiling face. What awaits is a snowy playground that instantly captures children’s attention.
The route winds through snow houses, tunnels, over bridges and gentle waves. Everything is designed in a playful way and invites you to ride the 1.5-kilometre-long descent again and again. For many children, this fun slope is the best part of the entire ski day. Our kids’ verdict is clear: ten out of ten.

Why Hauser Kaibling works so well for families
Hauser Kaibling isn’t a mountain of superlatives – it’s a mountain of balance. It combines learning areas for younger children with playful features and action for older kids, while remaining clear, calm and relaxed enough for easy-going skiing. Families can happily spend an entire day on Hauser Kaibling, or deliberately weave it into their ski days as part of the Four-Mountain Ski Link. For example, skiing from Planai to Hochwurzen and continuing on to the Reiteralm – both options work beautifully.
At the end of the day, you head back down one of the two valley runs with the satisfying feeling that everyone has had their moment. And when it comes to a winter holiday with children, that’s often the greatest compliment of all.
