Neubergerhof in Salzburger Land, your cosy retreat with mountain views.

Everything’s new at the Neubergerhof? Not quite. The heart is still the same.

Share with family and friends

The Neubergerhof has been part of family stories for generations. A lovingly run hotel that gives both young and old space to arrive and feel at home. Surrounded by mountains. A place that has grown with the people who visit it – and with those who run it with heart and soul.

In August 2024, all of this came to an abrupt halt. A fire destroyed the entire house down to its foundations. What remained? A mountain of decisions.

But if you know the Reiter family, you know this: they don’t bury their heads in the sand. They roll up their sleeves. With hands-on spirit, endless dedication and a whole lot of courage, they turned the impossible into reality. Within just one year, a brand-new home was built. Thoughtfully designed, full of style and ready for the future.

On December 12, 2025, a new chapter begins for the Neubergerhof. It’s not a copy of the past but a completely new favourite place that holds on to everything that was good and brings in so much that is even better.

Location

The Neubergerhof is nestled where the valley finds peace and the mountains quietly take over. Its secluded setting doesn’t mean isolation, but freedom. There’s space to breathe, panoramic views in every direction and that rare feeling of truly having arrived.
Trails start right at the doorstep, leading to the Hofalmen, up to Mount Gerzkopf or into the forest. Sometimes gentle, sometimes adventurous, but always accompanied by the scent of alpine meadows and the view of the surrounding peaks.

And if you feel like grabbing an ice cream, heading into the village or picking up ski gear, Filzmoos is just a few minutes away. Close enough when you need it – yet it still feels a world apart.

Lobby & Bar

The moment you step into the lobby, you can feel your holiday begin. The welcome is personal, warm and genuine. No high counters, no paperwork. Just a heartfelt hello and a space that feels more like a living room than a hotel lobby. A place to pause, unwind and connect.
Right next door, the new bar invites you to end the day by the fire. Soft armchairs, a crackling fireplace and warm lighting create the perfect setting to relax and linger a little longer.

Rooms and Suites

Sonnenhang, Waldklang, Bergwiese – the rooms are named after what you see outside, and that’s exactly how they feel. Large windows bring nature indoors, while warm wood and soft fabrics create a light and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re visiting as a family, a couple or on your own in search of wide-open views, each room is thoughtfully designed, cosy and open.
For children, there are snug corners and bunk beds made for hiding, climbing and dreaming.

Cuisine

Head chef Lars Uhlig cooks with passion but without pretence. His ingredients come from nearby farms and gardens, herbs grow just behind the house, and the meat is sourced from the family’s own farm – always with deep respect for animals and nature. Even the pigs raised on site are part of this honest and mindful cycle.
The dishes reflect the flavours of Salzburg without ever feeling heavy. They tell stories of traditional recipes, modern herbal cooking and the art of turning simplicity into something truly special.

Kids

Instead of kids’ clubs and craft tables, here it’s all about forests, meadows and real muddy adventures. Play happens mostly outdoors, freely and with a spirit of discovery. During the summer holidays, outdoor camps invite children to explore nature – and even spend the night under the stars. A few horses live on the hotel’s own farm, and guided rides take young explorers through the woods and across fields and forest paths.
And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there’s still plenty to discover indoors. A large play hall is the perfect outlet for little bursts of energy. Scattered throughout the hotel are cosy play corners – some easy to spot, others waiting to be found like hidden treasures.

Wellness

At the Neubergerhof, wellness is all about the essentials. An outdoor infinity pool that mirrors the mountains. Quiet rooms where silence becomes something you can actually feel. Natural materials that not only look beautiful but feel just right. This is not about putting on a show – it’s about truly switching off.
It’s about warmth, space and the freeing feeling of not having to do anything at all. Parents can let go and simply enjoy the moment, with nothing on their minds but the next sauna session.
