OPATIJA WITH CHILDREN

Discover the historic old town of Opatija with children!

The old town of Opatija has many impressive buildings from bygone days. We had great joy in Opatija with the children walking along the Franz Joseph promenade. You can discover many spontaneous play opportunities for the children, be it hopping around on big stones or observing boats in the near and far.

We especially liked the park Angiolina with the beautiful flowers and palm trees. Several beach bars are in this area with inviting daybeds by the water. We decided to have a drink and enjoy the view on the sea. With the kids it worked out very well, because they have been tired from our walk and enjoyed to rest as well. Otherwise the break could be less relaxing because the there is not a lot of space for the kids to play.

For lunch we left the touristic center of Opatija and found in a small side street a real gem, the Valle Losca Tavern. The food was excellent! They offer a small selection of local dishes. Special recommendations don’t exist because one dish is better than the other. All products are produced and delivered by family members of the owner.

Valle Losca has a small terrace located next to the street. Therefore the restaurant itself is not ideal with children, however the child-friendliness of the owner is outstanding. Thus you are also with kids very welcome. He personally takes care that your children feel comfortable while serving them first with drinks and food. Since there are only a few tables, to make a reservation in advance.
