A family-friendly beer garden with a true kids’ paradise – that’s Kugler Alm in southern Munich!
The Kugler Alm is a great family destination in the south of the city. In addition to a spacious beer garden, there’s so much for children to enjoy. Whether you visit as part of a summer bike tour or on a weekend with friends, Kugler Alm is a beer garden with a playground that definitely belongs on your summer to-do list.
Pick a table close to the large play area, so the kids can roam freely. A huge sandbox is set up as a construction site for kids, complete with helmets, trowels, and plenty of sand toys. Little builders will be in their element. Nearby, they can climb on a toy tractor or become passengers (or train staff!) on a charming wooden train further back in the play area. It’s the kind of place that sparks every child’s imagination. And in summer, there’s even pony riding on Sundays!
The food selection here goes beyond your typical beer garden fare. Alongside Bavarian classics like Obazda, roast chicken, and spare ribs, you’ll also find delicious options like grilled vegetables and fresh salads – rare finds in a beer garden. Our favorite? The freshly made Auszogne! Watch out – your kids might not want to share!
For Munich standards, the facilities at Kugler Alm are surprisingly progressive: you’ll find a changing table not only in the women’s but also in the men’s restroom. There’s even a child-sized sink for the little ones – details like these really make a difference and are truly appreciated!
