Precious vacation time should be spent with good food!
On vacation we love to go out to eat with our children. So it’s a good thing that the Portuguese tradition of spending plenty of time at the dinner table and that with the whole family can be celebrated in the best way in the restaurant Patéo in the Bairro do Avilles. The restaurant is a real land of milk and honey for gourmets. The gastro star José Avillez has filled for it in the hip neighborhood Chiado, a 1000m ² old hall with a new food culture for gourmets.
At Patéo, old-known Portuguese dishes are interpreted in a new and innovative way. With so many delicious seafood dishes to choose from, it’s really hard to make a decision. What works best here, as in many other restaurants, is the Tapas principle. Everything in the middle and everyone tries at everyone. A tip: the traditional bacalhau is served here in a modern way with potato and green olives. Incredibly good and highly recommended.
For the kids there is a separate menu with fish dishes or a classic pizza. There is also a pretty ice cream cart with gelato for dessert. On request, there are also coloring pictures and pencils for the children directly to the table. Here, the food is celebrated and the children are not neglected!
