Awesome park for all animal lovers!
The Monkey Mountain in Salem is a great destination for families on Lake Constance.
The Barbary macaques and other animals such as deer and countless bird species live in the park of the monkey mountain in a species-appropriate environment. Care is taken that the animals are not disturbed. For this purpose there is a small briefing at the beginning of the tour. During the meal times of the animals the park employees tell interesting facts about the animals. In addition, various riddles are set up along the way for the children to participate in.
The Monkey Mountain is not to be compared with the classical zoo visit, because the children can observe the animals without enclosures. When a monkey flits by in the large wooded area right under their noses, all the children’s eyes grow big.
At the beginning or end of the tour, which takes about 1 hour with children, there is a large wooden playground that has something for every age. Even the toddlers have been thought of with an extra large sandbox with a small slide and climbing frame.
In the self-service restaurant with tables right next to the playground, you can get drinks and simple dishes such as chips or ice cream while the kids are playing.
Around-the-corner tip: The Aufricht winery is just a few meters away. In the middle of the vineyard with a view of Lake Constance, you can indulge in delicious food and taste wine.
