The restaurant sits right on the shores of Lake Walchsee, and from the moment you step inside, you can tell that care has gone into every detail. Warm lighting, a thoughtfully designed interior, and an atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. It’s exactly the kind of place where parents can truly enjoy themselves—without it ever feeling out of place to be there with kids.
Cuisine with Intention
The food at Lakeside is thoughtfully curated. A small, refined menu featuring international dishes, carefully selected fish and meats, and an excellent wine list. On Saturdays, they also serve fresh sushi—which our son was especially enthusiastic about and therefore absolutely deserves a mention here.
What we appreciated most: not every family-friendly restaurant needs a play corner or neon-colored kids’ menus. Sometimes it’s enough for children to feel genuinely welcome, without it being made into a big deal. When we dined at Lakeside, other families were seated nearby—some with even younger children. There was no sense of “we need to be extra quiet.” Just a calm, shared atmosphere where everyone naturally had their place.
Good to Know for Families
Especially on Saturday evenings, it’s worth making a reservation in advance. Earlier seating times are particularly convenient if you’re dining with younger children. And with a bit of luck, you’ll get a table where you can continue to soak in the view of Lake Walchsee just a little longer.
