The playground of childhood dreams
Planten und Blomen is not only a beautiful park right in Hamburg’s city center, but there are several playgrounds there that make children’s eyes light up. Many Hamburgers have fond memories of the playgrounds from their own childhood. The largest playground is located near the exhibition halls and has everything you can imagine and much more. In addition to the classic equipment of swings, slides, sandboxes, etc., there are adventure houses for climbing around and labyrinth houses for hiding. The kids especially enjoy climbing up and sliding down the mountains all around.
For hot days, there are lots of water play options. In addition to numerous water fountains and mud areas, there are also several paddling pools. One is located at the top of one of the mountains and a slide leads directly into it. Fun is guaranteed!
For the little ones there is a separate area of the playground. It is not fenced in, but they can’t escape easily. A kiosk and toilets are located right next to the playground.
Planten und Blomen is so huge that you can easily spend a whole day here. Quite a few families make a family trip here on the weekend. Because in addition to the playgrounds, there is much more to discover, such as the Japanese garden. It’s a real dream at cherry blossom time!
If you go in the direction of the figure skating rink, you will find another large playground after about 20 minutes. It extends over several areas with adventurous slides and ropeway, extra toddler area and various water play possibilities. Hard to believe that you are in the middle of the city!
