By the way, did you know that climbing promotes gross and fine motor skills and children learn to keep their balance at the same time? The question often arises at what age children are ready for climbing. A stable gait and hand-eye coordination are crucial. As a sport, climbing is absolutely suitable for families and is extremely popular. It is important to always keep in mind that climbing in the childhood years should be playful and without pressure to perform.

But now let’s start with our favorite places for climbing.

Bouldering hall Flashh in Hamburg

There are only a few sports that can be done so well indoors and therefore independent of the weather, and at the same time you can get super exhausted within a very short time! Bouldering is definitely one of them, as our local mate Kirstin knows very well. In Hamburg with child on the way to climb the bouldering hall Flashh is a top address. For children there is in the bouldering hall Flashh the Mini Boulder Spot created especially for them. Children as young as four can start their first bouldering attempts here. Courses are offered for every age and level. The fun never comes too short! For the little ones there is a ball pool that prevents any boredom. In the Forest Climbing Park Upper Bavaria in the Munich area, young and old can test their endurance and dexterity in the course through the forest. A great destination for the whole family, fun is guaranteed! The climbing fun starts for children from 1.15 meters. If you have an even smaller child with you, you definitely don’t have to be bored. The most creative rope park in Zurich

Simone, our local mate from Switzerland has told us her favorite climbing park in Zurich with kids. The Seilpark Zurich is located a bit outside the city, but the journey is worth it. In the climbing park, new heights are scaled and the forest is explored from a bird’s eye view. This is even more fun as a joint family activity. Craftsmanship and brains can be put to the test in the various courses. The courses, some of which are already suitable for the youngest children (from 4 years of age), provide a great deal of variety when crossing the obstacles. Depending on age and condition, you can choose different routes through the park. The highly trained staff will accompany families throughout the park and provide helpful tips on climbing. Young practice and so Klagenfurt’s climbing center, the Boulderama, offers great entry points for younger climbing enthusiasts. The climbing center is characterized by the fact that there is a separate climbing hall for children. There is a climbing ship for the youngest and for all the slightly older children there are climbing walls of varying difficulty. Trying it out here is a great pleasure, as well as watching the experienced climbing masters. Click here to go to your favorite place!

Fun in the Familywald at Lake Ossiach in Carinthia

In Carinthia right next to Lake Ossiach is the Familywald. Here, not only does a great path lead up high, but the numerous suspension bridges and viewing platforms invite you to bathe in the forest. The absolute highlight are the treenets. Fixed high up between the treetops, the treenets create completely new spaces through which you can move freely at an unusual height.
