Schönbrunn Children’s Museum in Vienna

Prince or princess for a day! At the Children’s Museum in Schönbrunn Palace, kids can follow in the footsteps of Sissi and Franz. Right after arriving at the museum, the whole family gets to dress up in royal robes. And it’s not just fun for the kids – more than a few parents can’t stop laughing at the sight of the costumes, wigs included. Once the royal family portrait has been taken, it’s on to the first floor. There, children can discover what life at the palace used to be like. Wigs can be styled to taste, just as court etiquette demands, old kitchen utensils can be inspected, and in the playroom, kids can find out what toys children played with back then. And of course, all the toys are there to be played with to their heart’s content. There’s a lounge area where you can have a snack, plus children’s chairs and a changing table. If you’re in Vienna with kids, a visit to the Children’s Museum at Schönbrunn is an absolute must. It’s fun for the whole family! By the way, the entrance is on the right-hand side of the palace.
