Refreshments at the mountain hut: a well-deserved stopover

Just 10 minutes off the main trail is the cozy Ragert Alm, the perfect place to take a break and enjoy some delicious treats. You’ll be thrilled by the fantastic view and delicious regional delicacies you’ll enjoy after your short diversion. There are sandwiches and warm soup, and while the kids play in the surrounding meadows, you can treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake and soak in the incredible view of the surrounding mountains. This little detour to the alpine pasture is an absolute must!

The grand finale: the suspension bridge in the Klausbach valley

After another 20 minutes of hiking, you’ll finally reach the highlight of your adventure: the suspension bridge. It’s a truly awe-inspiring sight! The bridge spans impressively over the wild Klausbach stream, which flows roaring through the gorge deep below. Kids in particular love crossing the slightly swaying bridge and watching the roaring river from here. The thrill is palpable and the breathtaking view will stay with you for a long time. It’s definitely worth pulling out your camera to take a few souvenir photos!

When the legs get tired: Almerlebnisbus

The amber adventure bus is a fantastic way to keep the little ones entertained when their little legs start to get tired on the child-friendly hikes in Berchtesgaden. And the best part is, it will take you from the suspension bridge back to the starting point in comfort for a small fee. Here you can round off the day in the rustic Gasthof Auzinger – and treat yourself to what is probably the best cheesecake in the region. After this sweet finale, you will head home with a smile on your face and rave about your wonderful experiences. You can find even more family hikes in Berchtesgaden here.
