A feel-good place for everyone!
A family outing where everyone’s happy? Absolutely – especially at Caro’s Farm Café by Lake Dietlhofer near Weilheim. With delicious cake, fascinating animals, a pick-your-own veggie patch, and plenty of space to roam, it’s the ultimate feel-good spot for families.
Farm café with homemade treats
At Caro’s café, you’ll feel right at home – only this time, you don’t have to bake the cake yourself. Instead, you’ll find fresh sheet cakes, quiches, lasagna or salads – all homemade, often with spelt or ancient grains, and seriously tasty. The kids sip on cocoa or apple spritzers, while we enjoy a cappuccino brewed from locally roasted Murnau beans.
Pick-your-own fruit and veggies
From May to October, you can harvest your own fruit and vegetables right next to the café. On the large field, you’ll find strawberries, zucchini, carrots, flowers and more – just grab a basket, head out, and start picking with the kids.
Bison farm and a charming farm shop
Here’s something most people don’t know: Gut Dietlhofen is home to a herd of bison – right in the heart of Upper Bavaria! You can spot them grazing peacefully in the meadow next door. The farm shop sells bison meat, sheep wool products, pasta, honey and much more – most of it directly from the farm or nearby producers. Perfect for taking home or as a thoughtful little gift.
Animals, nature and a relaxing walk
Horses and free-roaming chickens – there’s lots to discover on the farm. And if you’re up for more, take a leisurely walk around Lake Dietlhof. The path is stroller-friendly, not too long, and wonderfully peaceful. Just the right way to round off a laid-back family afternoon.
