A FAMILY DAY IN MUNICH WITH CHILDREN

Amazing places in Munich with Kids!

Munich is not just any city for us, it’s our home town. That’s why we share with you our individual places for a favorite day in Munich, where we actually spend most of our time with our children.

Our favorite day starts right in the green oasis of the city at Englischer Garten. Nothing beats a delicious cappuccino and a warm pretzel at Fräulein Grüneis, a small kiosk in the park. Meanwhile the kids can run around on the green fields. Incidentally, the nearest playground is only a few meters away. Alternatively, there is Milchhäusl, a small beer garden with a playground right next to it. At this beer garden you have delicious Bavarian food – also for breakfast. If the weather for an outdoor breakfast does not fit, we like to go to Brenner Grill! In this child-friendly restaurant there is not only painting stuff for children, but on Sundays also a large play area with child care. The Eggs Benedict taste really delicious!

We continue with a walk towards Isar. There it is in the morning still completely empty and the children find the class to play extensively. In the district Haidhausen we have a  look at Pebbles. In the beautifully decorated shop window, even our kids always stay with their mouths open. Afterwards we pay the Café Familyroom a visit which offers really great courses and a play are for children.

Should a rainstorm surprise us, we go right into the Jagd- und Firschereimuseum (hunting and fishing museum). This is centrally located in Munich city center and is still a real insider tip. They have an amazing exhibition for children. If we are already in the city center, we have to stop by Neni. There we always order the homemade humus – an absolute hit for the kids!

On sunny and warm days we like to go to a nice beer garden! The Kugler Alm is a classic among the beer gardens  for families, thanks to the large playground. Is is, however, a bit outside the city. The Bamberger Haus has the flair of a beer garden in the middle of Luitpoldpark. If you like to have more options, you can choose between an Italian restaurant (very tasty!) And Bavarian hearty cuisine.

On our favorite day, of course, we can’t miss a little shopping. That’s why after lunch and in the best case with sleeping kids, we stop at the adorable Lemoni Store at Barer Str. 82. The great Greek clothing and accessories we like very much. There are other hip mom’s shops in Türkenstraße, not far from Lemoni Store. The small fine shops in the Glockenbachviertel are always woth a visit. In Reichenbachstraße you will also find the beautiful children’s shop Auryn there.

For a delicious coffee, we stop at the cool and child-friendy Café in Munich – Café Benko. They have understood that cool and kids belong together. Therefore, there is a small play area with books and toys for the little ones. By the way, there are very good coffees and a play corner in the coffee roastery Vits. The lovely designed Café two in one in Schwabing is also worth a visit. There are not only the most beautiful flowers in the city, but also delicious cakes and snacks! Directly opposite is on the Pündterplatz a large playground for children. How convenient!

Such an beautiful day, we like to end on one of our favorite playgrounds Josephsplatz, Wiener Platz or Kronepark.

When I drove home yesterday with my children, we noticed that we just experienced a lovely day. One that you would like to wrap in a jam jar to be able to use it when needed. I hope with our tips you will experience exactly one such day in our hometown.
