The hiking paths called Waalwege run as altitude panorama trails around Meran. They have their name from the Waals, water-filled canals along the hiking paths that were used to irrigate the fields. Thanks to the water, the climate is wonderfully fresh on the Waalwege. Since water is always a fascination for children, these hiking paths are very popular among families.
What Kids will love, is the forest adventure trail in Marling. Here, knowledge about the Waalwege is taught playfully. The children become little researchers and can explore all sorts of things. Through the stations, the hike is divided into several stages. This way kids stay motivated. In addition, there are always benches sometimes even with tables, to take a break with a great view.
