Aircraft to touch – a great adventure for kids at the Flugwerft near Munich!
In the north of Munich, there is a great destination for all aviation enthusiasts. The offshoot of the German Museum presents a century of aviation history in the Flugwerft Oberschleißheim with about 70 aircraft. It’s a bit of a drive from Munich (about 30 minutes), but the trip to the Flugwerft with kids is well worth it.
Kids can’t get out of being amazed. They can climb into airplanes, push buttons and pilot the jets through the air as little pilots. What a journey of discovery!
A highlight is a flying circus. Here, model airplanes take off again and again in the hall, some of which are decorated as clowns or flying bears. The children’s eyes light up and they are fascinated by the speed and the noise. There is also an airplane carousel that older kids can make fly themselves. For this purpose, the kids drive a turbine with pedals.
Of course, the size and number of airplanes and helicopters alone are extremely impressive for young and old alike. Thus, for kids, the entire Flugwerft almost turns into a giant indoor playground. Perfect for letting off steam in bad weather!
